Gratitude for Birth to Five Illinois – By Deidra Johnson

I am thankful for our Birth to Five Illinois Councils because the members are diligent about improving the quality of life, learning assistance, and growth for children from  birth to age five and their families. The mission also involves creating viable resources for all related workforces including child care providers, teachers, therapists, and all in between.  

Personally, being a member of the Family Council has given me a broader spectrum of awareness of the needs for this age. Being a parent of a toddler, I find myself in need of all types of things that will help facilitate the learning and growth of my child. There is access to services I would not know of outside of the Council and I am greatly appreciative of everything I have gained being a member. I also get an opportunity to voice my needs and concerns and help create solutions to the issues and problems we tackle as a Council.
