Region 20 Council Manager Janice Crow met with the Board to give an update on her programs with the group, Birth to Five Illinois. There are thirty-nine regions in Illinois and she manages Region Number 20. Crow’s counties include Edwards, Gallatin, Hardin, Pope, Saline, Wabash, Wayne, and White Counties. There is a website, a Facebook group, and a newsletter that has regional information, reports, and media links. Crow is encouraging others to join a community-driven action council or family council to share experiences and ideas, to give a voice to the community guide the next steps that your region takes, and to advocate for our youngest learners. Parents and caregivers of children aged eight and under can join as well as community leaders with and without experience in early childhood. The child care assistance program can help with free reduced childcare. Crow thanked the group for letting her educate them about her program. The group thanked her for all they do for the children.
