Landrie’s Journey: A Miracle Made Possible by Love & Support – By Rebecca Hilliard
Landrie’s story began with more obstacles than most of us could imagine. She came into this world at just 27 weeks, weighing only two pounds. From the start, her tiny body fought battles no child should face—a brain bleed, an arachnoid cyst on the back of her brain, Cerebral Visual Impairment (CVI), and developmental delays. She spent her first months intubated, relying on oxygen until she was eight months old. Every breath was a victory.
As a single working mom of four, I was overwhelmed. I prayed for hope, for help, for someone to believe in Landrie as much as I did. That hope came when I found Robin’s Nest. They weren’t just a child care—they became our second family. They opened their doors and their hearts, creating a space where Landrie could thrive. They welcomed her therapists—physical, occupational, behavioral, vision—into the classroom, working hand-in-hand with teachers to give her every chance to succeed.
Robin’s Nest didn’t just care for Landrie; they fought for her. They believed in her potential when the odds seemed impossible. They gave her love, patience, and tools to overcome. Today, when I look at how far she’s come, I know this: without Robin’s Nest and those incredible therapists, Landrie would not be where she is. They turned fear into hope and challenges into triumphs.
This is more than child care. This is life changing. This is what every child deserves—a team that never gives up, a community that lifts them higher, and a place where miracles happen every day.
