A Lasting Start to Lifelong Learning – By the Haynes Family

A family of four smiles at the camera. A quote from the story is at the bottom. The Illinois map with a Region highlighted in blue is to the right.

One of the most meaningful experiences my family has had with Early Childhood Education and Care services has been through Foundations 4Advancement (F4A). Their program helped foster independence and build confidence in both of my children. My oldest started at age four and is now seven, and my youngest is currently four and benefiting from the same foundation.

What stood out most was F4A’s innovative approach to teaching. The methods truly last. I remember dropping my child off not knowing a single sight word. When I picked them up just five hours later, they had mastered ten sight words and could recall them within three seconds. That moment showed me the power of intentional, high-quality early learning.

The long-term impact has been just as powerful. Today, my seven-year-old exceeds NWEA [Northwestern Evaluation Association] test score expectations and continues to thrive academically and socially. I strongly believe the early foundation provided by F4A is a key reason for this success. The confidence, independence, and love for learning that were built early have carried forward into every stage of school.

As a parent, I am incredibly grateful for the care, structure, and dedication F4A provides to children and families. I am excited to see the continued progress my youngest will make as he transitions into the school system, knowing he is starting from a place of readiness and confidence.
