A photo of an adult and a child planting a plant together. A quote from the story is at the bottom. The Illinois map with a Region highlighted in blue is to the right.

After my son was diagnosed with autism, I had no clue where to start or what to do in order to get him the services he needed. I just knew that he was the most amazing little boy, and I needed to get him the services he needed.

I felt alone. I felt like I was drowning without a life jacket in sight. But mainly, I felt like I was letting him down. Jump to today, and he’s thriving! I eventually figured it all out, but I had to do so through trial and error, wishing I had resources to rely on.

The work we do with Birth to Five Illinois is important. It matters, and it’s going to change lives. There is absolutely nothing more important than our children. Giving them the best start in life that we can means everything. And I believe that wholeheartedly!
